places I've visited |Munnar|

Munnar
About Munnar has been experiencing incessant frost for more than a week now; and it has never looked this gorgeous. Perched at an elevation of 1600 m above sea level, Munnar is best known for producing India's finest tea and spices. The enchanting, rolling hills of Munnar offer refuge to those seeking complete rejuvenation - in lush and peaceful surrounds. Munnar used to be a retreat for the British when they ruled in South India; and today has a legacy of its own and attracts lakhs of people from across the globe. Wow View
Lying at 1600 m above sea-level, Munnar is amongst the most sought out travel destinations in the world. It is a proper tourist hub with resorts and activities that have attracted visitors for decades. Its overall view, including the tea plantations, beautifully designed towns, rare flora and fauna, massive peaks and dams, make it the perfect destination for an extended vacation as well. The unique sight of the Neelakurinji flower that appears once in every 12 years (next in 2018) makes it hard to pass over this place at any cost.
Situated on the banks of three rivers- Madupetti, Nallathanni and Periavaru, Munnar is also blessed with natural view-points apart from the tea-plantations. Munnar is divided into Old Munnar, where the tourist information office is, and Munnar, where the bus station and most guest houses are located. The Eravikulam National Park, Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary and tea plantations are its major attractions.
